Lets go get a win boys, No! Terry your not playing until you get your grades up. Mrs. Yoder told me you haven’t turned in your last three assignments. Even though your the best player on the team you will not see the sunshine on the field again until you get your act together son. Extracurricular activities help build respect from there teachers but may also ruin your do to the lack of focus because your exited for the football game, baseball game, or the basketball game later in the day.
Respect, Respect, Respect! Gaining respect is very important for your academic performance. For example if someone gains a lot of respect from there teachers they wont get graded as harshly as those who show up everyday and dream about everything else but the prison we call school.Someone who sits like a tree in class gets graded harshly do to the fact that they don’t care what the teacher says, the lesson goes in one ear and out the other. Extracurricular activities can harm someone because of the lack of focus in class causing them to fail and not even be involved in that activity. For many us we are involved in after school activities and even tho someone is nervous don’t worry about that sport focus on your school work then when your out of school you can start focusing on that activity. In addition if someone shows up everyday with there work done there teachers will respect them for there hard work and enthusiasm at school, But if someone shows up everyday not caring about school, about the teachers, or about their grades they don’t get any respect from anyone except for there friends that feel the same way as them.
Always remember to do you work, do your work, do your work. If someone shows up to school everyday without there work that will ruin there future dramatically and slim the chances of them getting a well paid job. For example Steve was a very hardworking student, he always did his work, came in for help, and skipped his baseball practice just to make sure he passed and made good grades, but poor Eric showed up everyday without his work, he refused to get help and he never passed. That behavior reflected negatively on his future job because instead of becoming a pro baseball player because of his grades he ended up being a plumber, always fixing nasty toxin filled toilets and always getting dirty but Steve worked very hard and is now a pro baseball player with a very successful business. In addition because of the extracurricular activity that Eric was involved in he lacked a lot of focus and failed and if he cared enough he would’ve got help and passed and would have had his dream job of being a pro baseball player like Steve.
Therefore it is very important to always do your work and try and make good grades so you don’t end up like Terry where you can’t play for your team.
